Premier Credit Uganda, a licensed microfinance institution and subsidiary of The Platcorp Group, has secured $1.5 million in funding from Swiss impact asset manager Enabling Qapital to expand its services and strengthen financial inclusion efforts in the country.

According to Crunchbase, the transaction ranks among Uganda’s largest financial deals in 2025 and was the only fintech investment completed in July. The new capital will support the extension of services to underserved segments such as rural populations, women, and youth who face barriers accessing traditional financial products.

Established in 2014, Premier Credit Uganda provides entrepreneurs, individuals, and SMEs with fast and accessible credit. Its products are designed to help clients transform business ideas into sustainable ventures.

The company plans to channel the fresh investment into scaling its operations, introducing new financial solutions, and widening its national reach.

The Platcorp Group, which operates subsidiaries across Africa, reports that its network has provided access to finance for more than one million active clients to date. The latest investment is expected to further expand that impact in Uganda by offering ethical and responsive credit services to communities traditionally excluded from mainstream banking.
