Moroccan startup Jobzyn has raised an undisclosed pre-seed round led by Pan-African VC firm Janngo Capital, with participation from Digital Africa and other angel investors. The funding will support Jobzyn in scaling its product development and expanding into new markets across Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA).
Founded in 2023 by Simo Zizi and Abdelbassite Badou, Jobzyn uses artificial intelligence to help companies screen, match, and hire talent faster. Its platform automates candidate matching and soft-skill assessments before interviews, reducing the burden of unsuitable applications. Jobzyn also provides job seekers with insights such as management vision, office culture, and video testimonials to support better career decisions.
In addition to serving employers, Jobzyn offers a Career Centre solution for universities, enabling institutions to track graduate outcomes and employment data. The solution has already been adopted by leading local universities. The platform is used by international employers including Deloitte, PwC, and Glovo, as well as Moroccan corporates such as Maroc Telecom and Inwi.
“With the support of Janngo Capital, we are accelerating our mission to make the job market more accessible, fair, and efficient across the entire continent,” said Simo Zizi, CEO and Co-founder of Jobzyn.
Janngo Capital, which closed its second fund at $78 million in October 2024, said the investment aligns with its mandate to back startups that leverage technology to create inclusive employment opportunities for young people and women. “Entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful engines for creating decent economic opportunities at scale, and it lies at the heart of our mission,” said Fatoumata Bâ, Founder and Executive Chair of Janngo Capital.
The firm noted that Jobzyn addresses a key challenge of integrating women into the workforce, where they currently represent only 20% of formal employment. Janngo Capital runs Africa’s largest gender-focused tech fund and has invested over $5 million into startups that create opportunities for women and youth across the continent.
